Celebrate Recovery Group of PVBC is a substance abuse education ministry that ministers to members of our community that struggle with the addiction to alcohol, drugs, pornography, sexual addiction and more. Realizing that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to peace, Christians band together in mutual effort to transfer all dependencies on Jesus Christ. Our Curriculum Overview:

Step One
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall, make you free.  John 8:32
The solution to any problem in life hinges on knowing the truth about the problem. This material not only exposes the truths behind the mysteries of bondage, it also exposes how and what it means to be made free. True freedom stems from something happening from the inside out, not from the outside in.

Step Two
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?  Jeremiah 17:9
The Bible says, out of the heart are the issues of life. If the issues of our lives are flowing out of something that is deceitful, it is crucial to explore the meaning of this truth. Discover what a deceitful heart truly is, how it relates to the spiritual realm and how we can navigate through these matters which threaten the quality of our existence in this world.

Step Three
My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.  Psalms 119:25
Why are our attempts to become happy so often met with entrapment and disappointment? The mechanics and the purpose of the human design are central to the successful pursuit of happiness. Learn how the roots of our creation and, our interconnection to a world we utilize in our attempts to find fulfillment, can be a dilemma for us.

Step Four

Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.  Proverbs 13:12
One of the spiritual tools God gives to all human beings is something called hope. This power called hope is meant to be developed in a way that imports supernatural abilities. Understand the association between the heart and hope as well as the means of guarding the two. Learn the pitfalls of investing your hope in the wrong things and the benefits of investing your hope in the right things.

Step Five

While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.  II Peter 2:19
Each and every one of us are attracted to and stimulated by the things of the Earth. It is a truth that the same things that stimulated us in the beginning, loose the ability to sustain the allure. Learn what happens each time these feelings and interests subside and go away. Understand how the words servant, bondage and being overcome relate to the following statement: We can allow God to make us something we want to be or we can allow the world to make us something we don’t want to be.

Step Six

Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.  Ecclesiastes 6:9
Satan’s strategy, along with our cooperation, damages the most important part of us in a way we are not conscious of nor do we comprehend. This is identified in a word called vexation. Understand how we as Christians have the makeup and the tools to defeat these attempts and spiritually grow in a process of renewal. God has designed every human being to operate and function on an order that is truly in His likeness, promising fulfillment, purpose and the abundant life.
