Missions

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
[Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:19-20

“Missions” is not a program the church does; it is “who we are” as we follow Jesus Sunday through Saturday.

“Missions” is not an alternative to “growing the church” - it is God’s plan and purpose for sharing the good news of Jesus with every person on the planet . . .  by His grace and for His glory.

If you know Jesus, it is because of God’s mission to you. You have been called to Him - you are being sent by Him. As believers, we have walked across the bridge God has built to reconcile us to Himself.
Now we are called to build bridges of relationship over which the gospel can be transported to all who are separated from Him.

“Missions” is not a matter of local vs. global - it is all the work of God. The location is up to Him! Acts 1:8 forms the framework for the doing of God’s mission:

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

Mission Giving

Designated gifts for specific missions needs and undesignated gifts for missions endeavors are distributed accurately and appropriately each year through the church financial office.

We encourage regular giving for missions above and beyond the annual missions offerings collected each year for the Southern Baptist Co-op.  If you would like your missions giving to go to a specific mission endeavor, please mark the giving envelope accordingly.
Pleasant View Baptist Church offers many more opportunities throughout the year to be involved in local missions.  Whether through our food closet, Angel Tree, or our many other ministries, there is a way for everyone to get involved in local missions.
